Academic Integrity

Academic integrity has been talked about more than ever during my past few school years and very severe punishment can be expected if a paper lacks it. It is so hard to know exactly what taking some one's thoughts is these days. Even paraphrasing can be plagiarism if one is not careful. There are times when I think that punishment may be too harsh. I may see if money was involved: say if someone stole another idea and published it as their own for money. Honestly, there are times when it is an honest mistake on the writer's part. Maybe, instead of putting so much emphasis on not doing it, there should be more emphasis on preventing it.
